Horror movies ...

In class I have watched two horror movies which are called Psycho (1960) and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974).

The director of Psycho is Alfred Hitchcock and he made his film in black and white. He was on of the most highly respected film makers of all time. The genre of this film is horror and the villain in this film has a psychological problem which leads him to murder the women in the movie. I found this film quite interesting of how Hitchcock as used certain shots and angles to create a scene and make it more tensed.

The other movie I have watched the Texas Chainsaw Massacre which was written, produced and directed by Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel. They would be called in correct term a auteur as he done all three of the jobs in order to make his film. The genre of this film is slasher as this film is based on people cutting and running after a girl. The villain in this film never shows his face as he wears a leather mask and is presented to be a monstrous character. I did not enjoy watching this film because it seemed unrealistic and did not like the use of camera work in this movie.

Aristotle!

In lesson we talked about the philosopher Aristotle and about his argument about narrative. Aristotle believed that we get inspired by our surroundings and life. Aristotle had said about narrative ''for tragedy is a representation not of men, but of action and life, of happiness and unhappiness - and happiness and unhappiness are bound up with action.''
He mainly believed that characters and the plot where the main and most important key features of a narrative.
